This Week in Milford

While I was sleeping…

I’m baaaack! Thanks to all the readers for being patient, and thanks for the cartoonists of the strip for not creating anything too ground-breaking while I was away…

I’ve combined the last three comics into a single highlight reel:

1. Bill, while you’re at it, would you also mind locking whatever it is that suddenly appeared on your head in the basement too? Though it is pantheon-worthy (if it ever appears again).

2. Mrs. Ritter is clearly unimpressed with Stormy’s ability to morph into Andrew Jackson.

3. Hey Fuzzy Man-Crush, the fallen tree is over there. You seem to be sawing a standing tree in half…vertically. It’s sad when Stormy has to be the brains and the brawn of the operation.

4. Ah, good ol’ Betty Bright! Um…wait, who? That will be sure to impress Liz’s mom. Careful though, with all that yelling, you just might give your red hot one-and-only a stroke! Oops, too late.

  1. Welcome back… and we hope your spouse is supportive of your Gil Thorp habit.

To skip ahead to today’s (9/27) installment, the manliness is just getting way too thick. Betty Bright is a Congresswoman who’s nominated Stormy for the Naval Academy. So… our hero is the best player on the Milford team, he excels on offense and defense… he likes to spend his spare time with a chainsaw… he’s blond, cleancut and athletic… and he’s going to serve his country. Pardon my cynicism, but sheesh. I do hope there’s a skeleton in Stormy’s closet; otherwise Mrs. Ritter is going to look like a complete idiot before this is all over.

And are we ever going to get back to the Team Vs. Sean Pettibone story, or did Stormy nip that in the bud with his underwhelming locker-room speech?

  2. Congrats on the wedding, Jason. Hope it went off without a hitch? (Or, rather, with a hitch)?
