Lisa Wyche, Local Idiot: First let me reveal a secret to you while my back is turned to you…hey wait, didn’t one of you used to be Helen?
Kabuki Mask Guy: Yeah now I’m “Kabuki Mask Guy.” Just roll with it.
Lisa: Yeah, that sort of stuff happens a lot around here, doesn’t it? Anyway, I thought you’d like to know that our coach is slowly dying of starvation while stuck on hold in her office…Oh crap, here comes Bette Davis. I’ll have to tell you more later. I’ll distract her by jamming my freak finger up my nose.
Bette Davis: Hello girls…which way to the local cemetery? I seem to have gotten disoriented in one of my frequent zombie night strolls.
Brynna, looking vaguely normal today: Don’t zombies eat brains?
Bette: Yes. Fortunately in this town it’s easy to watch what I eat. I can see you’re locals. Good luck fitting that finger up your nose. [wanders off]
Jason: Hey, I know I’m not supposed to be in the scene, I just wanted folks to know starting tomorrow, I’ll be out of the blogging office for a few days, but don’t worry your old friend KAZ-BOT will be filling in while I’m gone.
Brynna: Tyler? Is that you? How did you get out of the mental institution?

Wow, the artwork today is just… stunning. Frank McLaughlin has outdone himself. First, the good: Lisa Wyche’s face stays the same from panel 1 to panel 2 (but not in panel 3). On to the bad:
Panel 1: Starting from the left, we have Helen Marzano being played by Lord Voldemort, Lisa Wyche played by her mom Peggy, and Brynna Blake played by some giant-lipped freak. Actually, that last one does kind of look like Brynna, but it’s hard to recognize her without her distinctive forehead/antennae combo. Peggy/Lisa Wyche is facing away from the other two creatures.
Panel 2: Either Lisa/Peggy has turned around, or the other two players have disappeared and been replaced by Samantha Stephens from “Bewitched.” Seeing as how Samantha is a witch, both of these scenarios are plausible.
Panel 3: Samantha magically teleports to the other side of the gathering in the hopes of shocking the players into telling the truth. Sadly, it fails, as Brynna is accustomed to deceiving others – no one in Milford has even figured out that she’s an alien yet. Although they probably should realize something’s up, because Brynna’s alien disguise has once again morphed her face into that of a young man. That thing is really on the fritz. Meanwhile, Lisa (now playing herself) has decided to leap into the frame at an angle. She may also be missing her left arm, though it’s tough to say. As for Lord Voldemort, he just stares creepily at the reader, silently threatening to take over the world.

“Peggy/Lisa Wyche is facing away from the other two creatures.”
While this is an unrealistic way to tell your teammates about the coach’s impendiing demise, it makes sense artistically so that you can see the faces of all the girls. However, a quick visit to the official Thorp-chive reveas that McLaughlin drew Clambake facing away from the camera (or fourth wall) while telling the baseball team about Double Duty Radcliffe. So I don’t think that McLaughlin us very consistent with this.
