So it seems Duncan has an anger management problem. Or at the very least hates trees. But I mean everyone hates trees. So smug, just standing there like they’re better than you. Makes me wanna smash… but I digress.

  1. I just went all Tyler Jay on myself. Five or six smacks, and it opened up real nice!

  2. Also: peanut butter jelly! Peanut butter jelly! Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!

  3. Marcus is the Green Hornet, and Dunkin’ had better give up the baseball career dream with his cross-handed swing.

    Remember what you promised your brother, Dunkin’: when you get angry, take it out on trees instead of dealing with the problem!

  4. milfordian “…Dunkin’… with his cross-handed swing….”
    you nailed that one!!! also note if he swang left handed this would be the follow through of the swing–but his heel would not be off the ground if that were the case…
    so he must be a cross hander—-damn good observation…

  5. When I saw Duncan Doughnuts pounding the tree, all I could think of is the scene from Mommie Dearest where Joan Crawford is tearing at the rose bushes and she yells “Tina, get me the ax!” I think Duncan Hines is goin’ all Joan Crawford on that tree. Gil better watch out. His head may be the next thing to be making friends wit that baseball bat.

    Also, why did Marty Moon bring his sugar container from the kitchen?

    I was also thinking of things that have been forgotten since the football season has begun:

    Underage drinking;
    Jamarr the douchey Ghost;
    Duncan Hine’s mysterious brother;
    Gil’s drinking problem…wait, that’s something that’s never forgotten.

  6. Looking at the coat I am leaning towards the left handed swing. Of course if it was true than…

    “There’s Duncan with the swing and a miss, no wonder why they call him the donut. It seems the only thing he can hit is Charles ‘The Beautiful Flower’ Bloom”

  7. Love 10/9 panel 1 Twilight zone effect: they’ve been transported to the Rocky Mountains and snow is falling.

  8. Probably an aluminum bat. Kids these days. Any man with a wooden bat would respect a tree.

  9. There’s something uncomfortably… intimate… about the Newtonians’ touchdown celebration in 10/8 panel 1. Celebration, or Spartan unit-cohesion exercise?

  10. I _told_ you all Duncan was Bruce Banner’s younger brother!

  11. Duncan’s swing looks like a normal left handed swing to me even if his right elbow is bent too much. It’s a Cobb-style split grip, and while his right heel is off the ground, his left appears to be too, just as one would expect at full extension.

    None of this, of course, explains what he’s displacing, and why he’s doing so against a tree. Regina? May Jamar remain forgotten. The rest remains in play.

  12. From last posts – milfordfan: Regrets o mighty snarker. Mudlarks tanked and we’ll never hear from Lame-ar again. Rube-man apparently shares Gildo’s love of fermentation.

  13. Maybe Duncan ought to help coach Marty DeJong’s Littlest Hobo baseball team.

  14. So Duncan has wood and he’s whacking it??

  15. See, kids? This can happen to you, too, if you listen to Reagan’s “trees cause pollution” speech on continuous loop!

  16. i wonder why no one told him to ease up on that tree. maybe he needs to listen to tarzana nights .

  18. Does Gil always punish the team when they lose by making them where 70’s platform disco shoes?

  19. I’m here late for the cross handed, hands spread swing. Get Duncan to the hit doctor for some coaching.
