(I’m assuming that’s the catcher, on his knees in Panel Two, with Ford bunting in the foreground. Given this strip’s history, of course, that panel could be taking place in a completely different game than the one being narrated. But my haiku stands! Dude, at LEAST put on a mask.)

Oh, wait…the dude on his knees in Panel Two has the ball. If Ford just bunted, then the ball is halfway to the pitcher’s mound now, and the catcher wouldn’t be holding it. I think my second guess was correct: the narration box is talking about a different game than the one in the picture.

“dates” must mean jobs making videos. Not sure what the right term is, but sure someone would dump on me if I said “filming”.
Was the first video bad because of production quality or the music. Derek blamed himself for the music which he wrote and continues to write.

Either way, I’ve never seen a high schooler drinking a traditional mug o’ coffee/java. And it’s frickin’ summer out – cold drinks only!
