Ravin’ at St. Fabian

“I’m feeling it. Time to start…”

Oh my. So, not only has Wonder Woman wannabe Wendy Wiley mysteriously changed from a pink dress to a white one, it appears that she is coming under the influence of some sort of psychotropic substance. I’m not even sure I want to know what the narration box in panel two is alluding to as panel three seems to be some sort of psychedelic mishmash of balloons, chunky gold bracelets and earrings, violet shaded smirking background (and foreground) characters with the twin suns of Tatooine thrown in for good measure.

Mind you this was after Julie and Wendy had already cut loose… so this is somehow the grand finale of whatever it is that they do down there at Saint Fabian’s.

Kids, don’t do drugs.

  1. Well, I’m perplexed. I can’t think it’s anything other than some drug kicking in. Are these kids on the Krokodil?

  2. Do we need to know things like -
How did the girls get into the dance?
St. Fabian’s is a school: Wendy does not go to the school: Is it attached to a church?
Is there any aspect of teenage life in Milford that has parental/adult supervision?
“Open dance. Lots of unattached (and loose) high school girls. Leave your booze in your car.”

  3. Apparently St. Fabian’s just lets random home schooled kids show up at their school-sanctioned dances. Truly, Milford is located in a more innocent land than ours.

  4. Apparently the students of St. Fabe are easily entertained. A standing “O” at a high school dance? Wait til disco hits this school, with that shiny ball casting light in all directions..they’ll be mesmerized.
