I thought I would post as a special treat, today’s comic in full glorious color. Look at the glorious green of that lush, summer ripened course! Look at the vibrant blue of the pond and the pants! Isn’t that a sight to behold? Actually, I posted today because Uncle Lumpy, filling in for Josh over on The Comics Curmudgeon today already jumped on this comic (and even stole my hilarious use of arcane golf rules as some kind of ironic statement or something). Uncle Lumpy! Oh well, what do you expect from obsessive weirdos blogging about comics…about golf!? Seriously Uncle Lumpy, I don’t want to stir discord in the comics back-up bloggers lounge. And your point about the drawing of the golf cart is right on. I could look at that all day. It’s more interesting than the characters and the “action”.
The post title refers to this.
Dang, Ned – you are up early today! But thanks for the timely, color post – we could get used to that :)
MCC has a waterfall (p2)? Or is that just an interestingly perceived flat pond? Or is it an allegory for what Gil and Mimi are currently doing?
Hey, Pat – get some bigger sleeve trim on that shirt (p3)!
I hate it when reality intrudes…..

Steve:”pick it up Pat. That’s good”
Pat:”But I’m not on the green yet”
Steve:”I know, but I lie 42 in the bunker”

I think Rubin chooses to go for a summer storyline revolving around golf every year so he can write off his trips to the course as a business expense. “Research”, you know.

Which one is the plooker? We don’t take kindly to plookers around here. MCC wouldn’t either, if it had any standards.
Why is the golf cart steering wheel in the middle?

I can never get enough Burroughs references. Damn good job, Ned, damn good job.

The bag on the right is so low it takes up part of the cart. Its almost suspended in mid-air, and neither bag has a strap around it to hold it on. The clubs are way too long in relation to the top of the bags.

It’s lonely here in the comics backup blogger lounge.

Ahhh, I see we have another word we can add to our ever expanding bizarre Milford sounds!
In panel one, Steve’s not only missing an arm, but he seems to have lost his leg along the way.
I am beyond sick of this boring plot. Why is Rubin such a lazy PLOOK! I agree with Scott…Rubin definitely must be writing this off as “research”. Can’t wait for football unless Rubin drags out another boring storyline from years ago. If he’s going to keep doing the same thing over and over again, drag out Clambake. He must have some old timey stories about being the first black man in football. HRONK! FOOZLE!
