Marty’s So Shocked All Of His Arm Hairs Are Standing Straight Up!

Well, I think we all suspected that Luckey was going to blow the play so no real surprise there.

So, let’s look at the art: Panel one is all vertical lines and panel two is all horizontal lines… and, I don’t even want to know what’s happening in panel three. Conrad looks terrible however while Gil looks like some sort of meso-american deity in a heavily shoulder padded windbreaker.

Personally, this last week was amazing in a ‘what have I gotten myself into’ sense, so I will take Gilthorpapatl’s advice and regroup with the rest of my weekend.

Bonus point: What the heck is going on with the front of Paul Dilon’s jersey in P2?

  1. Oh well, I was wrong – I had him being the hero. He may still be – the no-hitter apparently is still intact, so they need to regroup and finish the game. Which is incredibly not over yet; we will stay watch till Memorial Day is nigh before this great plot is resolved. Sheesh.

  2. Timbuys, what’s happening with the front of Dillon’s jersey in p-2 is not clear, but it looks a little like he’s wiping something off his fingers. Did the Vaseline let him down? This is possible: it may have picked up a clod on the bounce, causing Lucky’s throw to go wild. But I suspect the clod was Lucky himself– as you say, we did see this coming. Trying to figure out what more complications are coming up, and how many days it will take to get this one effing out. I mean Mfnrd could win on a no-hitter, or the wheels could absolutely come off. Dillon is fine but Lucky clearly is not– that expression clearly says “I just realized I forgot my cup!”

  3. Did Gil bring enough smokes for everyone? How many people get to go out there?

  4. I’m used to GT plots dragging on and on and on… but this is ridiculous – Marty’s half-face palm speaks for us all, I think. Is this even going anywhere? Also, why is Predator hanging out with the gang in P2 and why does it have a ball for a right hand?

  5. Stevo, Predator is the catcher. I thought he was an actual human whose helmet and mask are so tight that he cannot get them off even to field a pop-up, but no. The fact Predator is in on every infield conference has a price– no wonder Lucky threw the ball away.
