Oh, hey! True is in fact talking about Miami of Ohio. Fascinating. I’m sure every kid who has played Coast football dreams of moving to the dreary mid-west just for the chance to go to a college that looks as though it’s ‘from an old movie’ because if there’s one thing that’s for sure, there are very few colleges out there that have architecture suggestive of times gone by.

I’m sure if I thought about this more and put some effort into it, I’d have some neat links to share, but much like the artwork in panels two – how old timey!- and three – is that Mimi? Why is Gil’s head cranked up and away like that? – I’m going to have to just phone this one in.

Update: I guess there’s a new interface for WordPress. Like any right thinking American, I hate and fear change. So, I have to say that without the time to figure out how it works and without regard for the fact that it’s got something of a WYSIWYG aspect to it, I’m going to have to go with: it sucks for now.

  1. Gotta wonder if that’s not some traced stock photo of the Miami (OH) campus. And are we back at the Coffee Cantina now? I see the “concentric C’s” on True’s mug from this odd angle. Gil’s still drinking his iced beverage and sending that subtle “not one of us” message to True.

Gil is looking ab fab in that MCC polo and striking that pose. Work it girl! He’s peeling off from Mimi in P3 ’cause he realizes he’s got a thing for guys with chunky 70s watchbands.

Changes to WordPress interface? Hope I have time to check it before I attempt to post tomorrow.

  2. Nice to see Tru is a fine, upstanding young feller like his hero, Ben Roethlisberger.

  3. This plot is becoming more clear. True will choose Mfnrd because Gil is the only person in the strip who isn’t trying to exploit him. Hell, I am sure that when Gil was at State (before the peacetime Marines) State was just as old-timey as Miami, and what could be more homey and reassuring than to help the lad get there?

Still trying to figure out what this ankle sprain is about (buy time without two-a-days?) and what form False’s shit show will take when True chooses Mfnrd.

Ah. Apologies to any Newfoundlander offended by my use of the term “Newfie.” Rowdyman has wised me up that the term can be a real insult: I had understood it to be a more playful kind of slur.
