True repeats himself (more Memento-like dialogue!), dips his head and looks up menacingly at those to whom he believes himself superior. “The Quarterback” is a small man but a self-important douche with a sense of entitlement. Which one is Art’s son?

Hopefully True will address Jarrod as “The Quarterback” for the duration of their time together at Milford High. “Hey, ‘The Quarterback,’ bring me a cup of Gatorade and wash my jockstrap using the gentle cycle, willya?”

Funky sense of perspective going on here. Yesterday Jarrod approached True from behind/alongside and to True’s left – or at least it looked that way as True looked over his left shoulder to speak to him. Now True looks straight ahead at Jarrod, then again over his left shoulder as Jarrod walks away behind him.  Maybe “The Quarterback” was circling him like a shark.

Enough of that: let’s watch the cliques form! Tonsure boy over by the Tray Return is waiting to high-five Jarrod for the sick burn while two other guys are ready to join The Truman Show, though one less than willingly.  I can’t wait to see how the quarterback controversy divides the team and keeps them from the playdowns.

  1. Isn’t that Timm Gunn and John Pascoe re-entering this season’s football story in P3?

  2. Spot on analysis, teenchy. I’m not gonna bother going back through the archives, but was it ever actually established that Jarrod had been the quarterback? Awww, who am I kidding? OK, I just did a cursory search through last year’s football plot (BTW, this blog could really use ‘next post’ and ‘previous post’ links on the page but so it goes), the QB was #17 and Gil told Kaz that he needed a passer. Anyway, the archives are a little sketchy that season and, as near as I can tell, it was all about the Troys and Tipp and John Pascoe. No clue why Jarrod is going through the histrionics that are on display right now.

  3. Yeah, you’re the QB of the mediocre 7 on 7 team. Big whoop. This jag is going to make Doug Neidermeyer from Animal House look like a nice guy. Likely to get injured by his own players.

  4. Yep, it’s clearly freelance strength coaches Sassy Tip & Silent John. John must be in the bulk-up phase, as he has at least 3 lunches piled up.

  5. Tim I am in the dark also…Who q-backed the 2013 team? Did Jarrod wear this number last year? Was he back up QB or what???

  6. The two guys sitting down sure seem like Jarrod’s enforcers. “Nice throwin’ arm ya got there…..be a shame if sumthin’ happened to it.”

  7. Geez ! And I thought I was one of the few people who still remember that 1978 album !

  8. Mike Hayes goes to the air 17 sept 2013…Mike Hayes #17 QB 19 Sept 2013…Hayes (17) rolls our…October 30, 2013…
No sign of any #7 in 2013 football…
So where does Jarrod’s sense of entitlement come from???

  9. Isn’t Jarrod just a junior. Kaz commented earlier that he hasn’t much of an arm but could be a leader. As Bobby Joe said a leader in the mold of Doug Neidermeyer.

  10. OK, it’s established. Nathan Hale is a threatened little twit. And Gil has his hands full with the divisions arising from True’s arrival. But he would have his hands full with the divisions arising from Adolf Jr’s presence to begin with, so let’s just see how it all works out.
