I Was Told There Would Be Animation

Dang it, Marty! Not only do we not get to see an animated Jarrod Hale, we only get still images of Knox and the intriguingly named Austin Shuford. It’s too bad I already used that Harlem Shuffle video way back when because I’d like to try to work a joke in with that.

That’s about all the time I have for commentary today. Thanks to everyone yesterday for their illuminating discussion of football related bonfires. I have a hard time imagining that anyone who reads this blog doesn’t also read the Comics Curmudgeon* but in case you missed it, his post from yesterday includes links to the last several years of bonfire strips – entertaining stuff!

*Seriously, if there’s anyone who reads this blog but doesn’t read CC, please mention it in comments. I am sincerely curious about it.

  1. Wow, Marty’s really decked out his crate this season. Made control knobs from the caps off his mom’s Robitussin bottles and all.

  2. Yeah, but he’s still using a golf ball for a microphone.
And I don’t read the Curmudgeon. There, I admitted it and don’t care…

  3. Not a CC reader. TWIM is all I need!

  4. Why does Marty have that lie-detector test rig in his basement fantasy crate? “Marty, I’m going to the store!” “Sure you are, mom!”

  5. I don’t read the Curmudgeon

  6. Looks like Marty is in an actual press box, though he has brought his play microphone and board with him– clearly the “O” on the Oakwood uniforms does not mean they are zeroes. Nobody’s said this, so Capt Obvious here will point it out: Nathan Hale may be a jerk, but it looks like he can also play. Again, speculation on what will force the change?

  7. Yes I read the Curmudgeon, since before this blog. Think I found this thru CC. I guess its good Milford has 2 good QBs on hand. Now how long will this game take? Hope I dont have to report on the 3rd quarter on Friday.

  8. Cool. I was simply curious and, given that this is probably a record for least amount of time I ever spent writing a post, I didn’t embed a link to the CC post which in turn contained links to commentary on all of the previous bonfires.

FWIW, I always figured the CC was a gateway for these smaller little blogs. I’m certainly not trying to do what he’s done, just having a little fun snarking on good ol Gil Thorp.

  9. A little late, but I generally do not read CC as much as TWIM although it is probably how I found this place.
