Tonight’s Special: John Pascoe Sandwich

September 18, 2014

Once again, football action that barely advances the plot. Once again, Marty (sporting a fresh Gillette Fusion cut) tells us about another Milford scoring drive and we’ve yet to actually see Animated Jarrod Hale in either of them. May make it easier to kill him off get him out of the lineup when that time comes.

P1 does give us a nice example of Exploding Ball Carrier Syndrome. Call me crazy but I always thought that when a person got “sandwiched” it meant that they were between two other people. This looks more like the makings of a dogpile. Maybe John Pascoe changed his name to John Pascoe Sandwich. It does have the ring of a daily special at The Bucket: The John Pascoe Sandwich – big and beefy but no tongue.

  1. If that’s a sandwich, it’s upside down and open-faced. Marty’s tanked already, it seems.
As for teams, “Oakwood Zeroes” has a ring to it. It’s making me fondly recall (P)Rick berating his roommates on “The Young Ones”.
Finally, another fine, forgettable workman’s moment from Don Stebbins.

  2. Heh heh FoolyRain. WTG, Don Stebbins! Didn’t the world recently lose Rik Mayall aka (P)Rick? (answering my own question: Yes we did, this June.) My favorite line from the Young Ones: “I’m just going to have to wee on Lord Snot’s head”

  3. I was very torn up by the loss of The People’s Poet.

  4. Marty looks awfully… vexed… at Milford’s early success. A losing team is way better for his talk show’s ratings.

Wait, does he do the show? Or is Matt the Hatt still in charge?

Also, Marty looks exactly like Evil Spock in that ST:TOS episode.

  5. Hmmm… Milford presumably up 14-0 early in the game? It’s not an original prediction, but this is clearly setting up for an injury to Hale, a rusty True faltering but then showing his quality in the next few games followed by a controversy over who gets to start when Jarrod returns as he always wanted this and proved he could do it early on only to be usurped by the upstart from the Coast. The only thing missing is a love interest and possibly John Pascoe breaking his silence when he pleads for team unity before the big game that determines whether Milford will ‘win’ second place in The Valley.
