  1. I think you and all the folks who work hard to keep this site going have earned a day off every so often.

The way Jarrod Hale is obsessing, you would think Milford had not had a shut out in a long time. In fact , Milford football has not shut out an opponent since… oh, last year, a 34-0 victory over Tilden.

Known Milford football shutouts since 2001:
    2002 – Goshen 42-0
    2004 – (Valley) Tech 16-0
2005 – Oakwood 41-0 (win later forfeited due to participation of ineligible player Ira “Brick” House)
    2006 – New Thayer 48-0
    2010 – Leesville 10-0
    2013 – Tilden 34-0

There are also 9 Milford victories during this time where no final score was quoted, and the opposing team was not depicted as scoring.

  2. Yes, billy– the guys deserve a lot more than that for keeping us all up to date. As do you! You must have the most remarkable interactive d-base– it looks like you have all these facts in a computer.

Just to get in a quick remark about today’s strip (I’m suggesting “Stebbins Steps Up” as a title) we heard that Jarrod “has a following,” and I am sure he has not yet driven all his teammates away. But True is gaining one too– Tip and Pascoe, and now Stebbins. This may be shaping up as a little black and white (nice kids with a sense of humor vs Hitler Hale and his following) but we still have not seen direct confrontation. Or Gil and Kaz, at least recently…

  3. Upon review, it looks like Dandy Don isn’t just a placeholder anymore. I, for one, applaud his ascension to “minor character with a few lines who moves the plot forward”.

  4. Agree, FoolyRain.

  5. Thanks for the kind words. I thought about doing a make up post right now but it’s way late, and personal and professional burdens have been weighing on me like a ton of bricks.

Since people seem to be taking a shine to Don Stebbins, I would just like to remind you all that the real Don Stebbins is something of a – pun intended – big wheel in the auto parts business. In addition to winning the heart of willowy Wendy Wiley, dude could buy and sell TWIM Inc. without batting an eyelash.

  6. No worries, Tim. I was coming in here to take a mulligan myself. I was in a car accident last night and, while not hurt save a few bruises, will likely be spending time with insurance folks today. I’ll try to post Wednesday’s and today’s strips shortly but may beg off on Saturday.

  7. I was hardly home yesterday myself, working then going to Cubs night game, getting home at 12:30 this morning, otherwise I wouldve pinch-hit. I can do Saturday if need be. Glad you’re Ok. We need all hands on deck for this venture.

  8. Rob, I commented on my last post will do so again here: I’d be glad if you could pick up the Saturday post for me this week. Thanks!
