I Will Save The Bacon Puns For Later

Fairly straight forward strip today I’m afraid so I will keep the various ‘jokes’ (trust me, they were awful) based on Max Bacon’s name to myself. Other musings: I wonder why panel one takes place in the featureless void when panels two and three both get relatively detailed backgrounds? Also, is any of this somehow going to tie back into the Leisl/Bobby thing?

Regardless, we can be thankful we have the gimlet eyed yet slack jawed Marty Moon to talk us through the action.

  1. Jeez – Marty looks like hell. I wonder if 2015 will be the intervention year for Mr. Moon? Wait – haven’t we seen that plot already, or am I misremembering…

I miss Hi, I Sillies already.

  2. Technique of setting a pick–I wonder if Bobby will catch this… If 32 sets his picks as shown with his hands by his side, it won’t belong until he gets ‘racked’…

  3. Panel 2 Bacon (a) stop & pop the J depending on how close 5 is, in front of him.. or (b) pass back to 32 who pivots, rolls & will be open as 5 is moving up to challenge Bacon & 3 (or 13) is chasing Bacon…

Mifflin & Lewiston are in PA…

  4. Nothing to do with this strip but I found a Gil Thorp strip, without Gil or anyone else, from 1965 while looking for something else:

  5. You said strip, right? As in bacon never mind.

In an alternate universe, this would be a Mac Divot focused site.

  6. Nice find, Scott. Pass that “OLD FORESTER IN THE NEW EASY-TO-HANDLE HALF GALLON!” ad on to Marty.
