Talking Smack With Marty

Maxwell took Gil’s advice and didn’t say anything particularly inflammatory to Marty so that’s a bit of a disappointment in a plot where it seems like most interactions have been verging on becoming violent.

Ol’ Maxwell could do with taking some tips on his internal monologue however. Rolling bruised rubber bacon? Whatever. That’s not nearly as disturbing as him referring to himself in the third person.

  1. What happened since Saturday’s strip? Did Bacon stop lifting weights?

  2. If Bac-O-Bits starts doing silent play-by-play (“Bacon drives to the lane — he puts it up off the glass — SWISH!”), then we’re in for an epic douche-off between Maxwell and Bobby.

  3. Strongly suggesting a tag/category for Illeism, with Bac-O-Bits getting first honors. If we could luck out and get a cameo from Bob Dole, Whigham’s supply of thought balloons wouldn’t last a week.

  4. Yeah, this basketball season’s gonna be a looooong ride.

  5. What?! No YouTube video of the song Rubber Band Man?

  6. Maxwell Bacon Rolls are my second favorite appetizer on the Bennigan’s menu.

  7. Steve Luhm’s gonna have a fit what with Maxwell randomly thought-bubbling all over that polished floor.

  8. I’m with FoolyRain on this ones. Milford stories centering on self-absorbed knotheads tend to be long ones.

  9. remember the song ‘rubber band man’??? Combine that with ‘bacon rolls’ & develop a cheer….
his arrogance (or stupidity, or naivete) is going to be bulletin board fodder for opponents…

  10. A few years ago Steve Luhm came to the rescue with basketball problems. Is it time for a reprise by Haley V Baxendale?

    Comment by vaganova — January 13, 2015 @ 7:48 pm

  11. Billy, you broke my heart. How will I ever know what is true anymore?
