Well we’re at Jefferson now and the Jeffs have suited up Sir Michael Rocks to drop the beat rock on Milford. There’s another illegal #7 on the Jeffs’ roster; too bad no one on the Milford staff pays attention to that sort of thing.  They’re too busy working on their #brand to be bothered with such minutiae.

Looks like Maxwell Bacon’s gonna saunter over to that travel bingo game set up in front of Marty and tell him how he wants the Maxwell Bacon #brand positioned during the broadcast.  I have no idea how this will pan out but I suspect this game will end with a Milford loss, an embarrassing showing by Bacon and some kind of blowback onto Bobby Howry for suggesting Maxwell work on his #brand.

Sorry I haven’t put more thought into this post but I’ve got to finish shoveling my driveway.  Four inches of heart attack snow last night. Whaddaya say we meet at BIG ED’S BBQ when I’m finished? I know Matawan’s a hike but the roads should be clear. If Matawan’s too far there’s always the one in Red Boiling Springs, or Middlesboro, or Riverdale (bet Archie and Jughead hit that one up)… nah, knowing Rubin I suspect he’s referring to the Big Ed’s with locations in North Chicago, Waukegan and Libertyville. Geez, if only I put as much thought into this post as I did into searching for BIG ED’S BBQ… this might actually be entertaining and I might not be hungry.

  1. Jeez, teenchy, now I got a hankering for some brisket.

Does this qualify as yet another cliffhanger? I am a little disappointed that I have to wait until Monday to find out just what Max Power Bacon has to say to Marty.

  2. Wow, a hometown shout-out. I grew up in a village pretty close to all three of those towns Libertyville, North Chicago and Waukegan. We even used to ‘cruise G street’ in Waukegan our cars in high school, just like they did in American Graffitti. I don’t remember any Big Ed’s (or actually, any bbq places) but it’s been close to 30 years since I’ve been around there. I do hear my old high school’s basketball team is one of the best in the state of Illinois right now, perhaps they will play Milford one of these days.

  3. I think Maxwell is going to pull a team-player bit. “Excuse me, Mr. Moon? This isn’t me against Antoine Reed; it’s the Mudlarks against the Jeffs. I am nothing without my teammates.”

  4. Also, Marty Moon has SPONSORS?

  5. Whigrub is definitely keeping us in the dark. Lysol is showing signs of interest in Bobby, whom we had written off as a dorky pretender. And now Maxwell “Six Degrees” Bacon, after telling Bobby he just wants to be himself, is showing signs of self-promotion in approaching Marty Moon. What’s next? O tempore! O plot twists!

  6. Gil and Mimi are the perfect couple: they both get others to do their work for them and then laugh about it over “lemonade” by the pool! This must be the case: neither one of them has done any coaching this entire bball season (or any other season for that matter).

For those of you that don’t know the old days of GT: Mimi Clover was hired to coach, and Gil was a coach and PE teacher. They dated, but when Gil didn’t propose Mimi started dating Marty Moon! Gil realized the error of his ways and proposed to Mimi.

That is theoretically why Marty is a pain to Gil!

  8. […] Other highlights: Rodney Curtis needs to practice on his jazz hands (and baguette fingers), and Sedrick Roy needs to sign with some big program if only to get his dad out of that PT Cruiser and into some new wheels. Hopefully these boys are now off to score some unofficial barbecue. Road trip to Big Ed’s? […]
