This Week in Milford

Always bouncing, to the left and to the right

I’m at a loss to understand how Bobby’s predicting Max’s performance is more impressive to Lysol than any of his other hoops observations to date. If she knew how he was able to make that prediction, she’d be more creeped out than anything. Here’s hoping for that denouement sooner than later; spring training has only a little more than a week left.

I’m also a bit mystified as to how that ball rack neatly holds five basketballs in its middle row but can barely hold four at the top. Either way, could Bobby’s inflating ego have an any more graphic representation?

  1. Some of those basketballs have quotations from the Peanuts character Woodstock on them. I’m sure Gil thinks they’re inspirational.

  2. panel 3 has 5 balls in the top row….
looks like improper “diameter” for at least one of those balls on top row in panel 2…

  3. I think his little thought bubble in panel two would read more accurately if he said, “As a future jailhouse snitch…”

  4. For those of us who don’t follow the strip very closely (though, personally, I loved the strip back in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s !) , what does he mean by “interesting experiment” ?

  5. Bobby gave Max some Adderall to improve Maxs play. At least we assume it was Adderall. Don’t know for sure. Still could’ve been Sweet Tarts, Tic Tacs, etc.

  6. “As a future coach, I’m perfectly willing to experiment on my players with prescription drugs.” Score!

  7. Uh oh – looks like Whigham can’t stand it anymore than we can. You tell me the eyes aren’t gettin’ all Picasso in P1.

  8. Hey, did he just say, Pablo Picasso?

  9. Those who say this will not end well are right, unless Lysol is into guys who are manipulative and deceitful. I still don’t think Bobby is supplying Baconator with actual drugs, but I AM sure the eventual rumpus will mean curtains with Lysol and a likely expulsion from school. Kind of hoping Lysol stays on for additional sports and seasons– like Molly Kinsella, she reminds us that some teenagers are in good mental health and not seventeen going on three.
