Midseason form in midseason

So they finally drag out the equipment and actually Play a baseball game and.. we have more Milford dominance. Warning: If Paul Dillon pitches like this all the time, he’ll be on the DL by midseason. He looks like he’s barely flipping the ball up there with no leg action at all, and that takes a toll on the arm, ya know? See Marty DeJong for pitching injuries (and Martys dad for smoking on the golf course). Gil have a pitching coach, or is Kaz the de-facto do-it-all but manage guy? No Bobby Howry around either, he’s been banished to locker # 25 for his antics and wont be seen again until hoops season, if then. And True will get mop-up duty in the 7th; a rare good idea by Gil to use a low-pressure situation to work out the kinks of his star QB on the mound. We turn the calendar to May and look forward to a solid month of base-softball and an increase in readership of “To Kill A Mockingbird”.

  1. Will True fake an arm injury a la Rodney Dangerfield? “Oh! My arm!”
But who will come in? I have no idea. Neither does Gil.

  2. It’s too early in the season for True to suffer a torn UCL and disappear into the surgery ward, isn’t it?

Speaking of which, where the hell is Art Standish? Shouldn’t he be all over Gil for jeopardizing True’s golden arm? Or is he waiting in the weeds for the inevitable injury so he can file a massive lawsuit against Gil and the school district?

  3. The baseball in P2 looks like a snowball. Can Tru blow a 9 run lead? You betcha.

  4. John S., that’d be quite the interesting plot twist.
However, Art could always reappear trying to wangle Tommy John surgery for the lad even if his UCL isn’t blown out. There have been reports of bleacher parents trying to get that done on kids who aren’t hurt, believeing it’ll improve their performance. Where’s the local surgically-trained ethical dwarf?
