Reading the Context Clues

We see more of the famously witty banter between True and Boo as a quick prelude to Boo being confronted by some Center City cretins outside the club. Props to Boo for showing up a half hour early for the Dyspeptic Wanks show. I am sure they will be onstage promptly at mid-night as is the usual practice of any late night performance.

Let’s suppose we have to wait til tomorrow to see if today’s action is going to lead to anything or if it was just another day rolling by in an extended baseball season plot.

Bonus point: That is not the sickest burn ever in panel three, but the look on Boo’s face would have me skulking back towards whatever skeevy den of ill repute these two emerged from.

  1. Boo is right to question the literacy of these two ne’er-do-wells, as the one in the hat is clearly unaware that an “e” is customary on the end of “blonde” when referring to a female.

  2. Tire slashing anyone?

  3. Will Boo next be assaulted by Goatee and Skeevie — and then True will arrive just in time (he came to surprise her) to rescue her? But in the ensuing melee his incredible right arm gets injured, destroying his shot at either football or baseball stardom?

  4. Oh oh oh: please have Kaz show up to attend the show and administer some Kaz “Fist o’ Justice” to these two louts! Or maybe Herk the Mauler – would set up a good summer plot. Tarzana Nights!

  5. I’m still not interested in The Mystic Pranks, but I’d definitely drive to Central City to see The Context Clues.

  6. Hoping for MIlfordian’s outcome rather than Moon’s, though his is also reasonable. Kaz has not told anyone to ease up in some time, and the timing would be perfect. And I think he is more likely to be at a Spastic Minks show than would Herk, who would mistake the band for former wrestling opponents. Will True, concerned at what might be going on, show up? Under Milford Standard Time, that would likely happen Thursday, which could be a problem, since on the original Mickey Mouse Club, it was Wednesday that was “Anything Can Happen Day.”

  7. But Vaganova, couldn’t one of them appear Thursday anyway? Because “Thursday is Guest Star Day.”

  8. That would be Kaz, Moon! And Gil, in his paternal dressing down, could say “You’re lucky that Kaz happened to be (stupidly enough on a school night) there!”

  9. There is ample precedent (in the form of the iconic punch we all love) for Kaz intervening in such situations. And I think we have to concede that Whigrub would not have introduced i due scumbagii this morning if they were not to figure in the plot. Will True, reconsidering, appear, and Kaz bail them all out, leading to Gil’s hearing with the Wright windows behind him?

  10. […] waiting for True to appear deus ex machina style to be Boo’s savior? Did we not pick up the context clue that True wasn’t going to the show with her? I suppose it’s not too late for him to […]
