And thats all she wrote

And just like that the baseball storyline is ova. Quick, painless, and easy. The Larks fall short again as they get outdueled by a better pitcher. No worries about True blowing a lead due to being half-asleep on the mound, and now he and Boo can fade merrily into the sunset and we can start over with a new bunch of mopes. Wipe the slate clean, pour yourself a tall glass of lemonade with Gil, and watch the summer proceedings, which should include finally letting those damn kids out of school, teeing up a new Titleist and shooting your age after 3 weeks of playing golf, (in the dark no less) and blowing off the girls softball storyline, as tends to happen in this strip. Maybe True can join the 7-on-7 touch football tourney, instead of watching it like last year. Cant say the old arm isnt loose this time.

  1. Baseball may be over, but Marty is still tripping balls.

  2. Is this the best, I mean THE best, Martyface ever? #feeltherapture

  3. It’s a shame Marty’s role in Star Trek: The Motion Picture was cut. He had the best V’Ger Cloud reaction shot of anyone on the crew…

  4. Is that an inflatable Marty Moon sex doll?

  5. Gonna take a moment here to point out the bizarre angle of the handshake in panel 3. Gil is sticking his arm straight out, and he and Coach Jefferson aren’t even directly facing one another? I…what?

  6. Good point, Empty. Gil looks to be all full of good sportsmanship and all that rot, while JeffCoach just wants to get outa Dodge.

Let’s all leave with Marty and his ‘My God, it’s full of stars!’ moment.

  7. Great Martyface, and congrats to the syndicate for landing a Jesse Ventura cameo in panel 3. As for this smozz finish to the spring storyline, all I can say is wuuuuuuuuuut.
