Sorry folks, but I have very little time for this one. I will tip my hat towards the artwork as it lately seems a bit more detailed. Too bad that the plotwork, at least so far as we can tell for now, has been such a hash.

Bonus points: There is so much that is just so creepy about panel three – perhaps, again, if you are sleep deprived – that the less said, the better.

  1. Gil: “So what are you going to do about it?”
True: “What is a 17-year-old going to do about hundreds of thousands of alleged adults with misplaced priorities? Probably nothing. And, along those lines, you’re supposed to be a coach of some sort, and you’re surrounded by kids who aren’t keeping their left arms straight. What are you going to do about that?”

  2. Is Gil taunting True, or trying to encourage him to set fire to the passing camp media tent?

  3. Philip, if you look at the ground you will see the kids with the collapsed left arms are not hitting balls at all but killing snakes.

  4. I like how Gil’s holding for that kid’s extra point in the last panel.

  5. Please, please please let that kid in panel 3 whack Gil in the rear with the club!

  6. Gil’s gonna have to hold the ball for the Bobby Brady look a like. Ball will not rest on that rusty nail. I still say those golf clubs look like the candle sniffers alter boys use.

  7. Now we know what happened to Bobby Howry, the self-styled coach of the future from basketball season. He’s working for a recruiting website. Has anyone else noticed that we have no face to punch yet? All we see are the victims, the exploited kids and the deluded parents. For some reason Bobby Howry came to mind, along with Knox Foley, the junior attorney who prepared the case against the wrong gas station.

  8. Shouldn’t that word balloon in P3 be leading to the kid’s mouth instead? It reads like something a child would say – not any adult, much less an adult who supposedly is a good enough coach to lead a team to a state championship.

Today’s post will come late, probably this evening. I’m so baffled by it that I’m having a hard time coming p with any snarky observations.

  9. The golf figures drawn in panel one today seem to me to be an homage to former NatLamp/New Yorker cartoonist M.K. Brown
