This Week in Milford

No it would make you a flaming RedHawk

And on we go in this summer plot that never wants to develop into an action sequence. Didnt I write about this crap last week? I swear we’ve been at this camp for a month and all we’ve gotten is 3 prospects talking about their college choice between hard weighttlifting and passing drills. So now we find out that Rodney, Rey and True may all wind up at the same college – and for what its worth, why do we need to care? Unless Whigrub forgets about the Larks for a whole fooball season and we have to endure Miami Redhawks games/practices/bad cars on campus until New Years Eve. Marjie Ducey would be in a pickle with no sports to cover for 4 months. Gil could follow up those golf lessons with actual time-consuming play and real improvement. Kaz could go get some more tats and line up towels so assistants like Bobby Howry dont have to fetch them. Maybe the pre-season bonfire will be cancelled! Gadzooks!

Side note: I’m leaving town again next weekend for a few days so someone else will have to pull Friday duty for me, so this is a heads-up. If you cant find anything so say, just copy this post and put it up with the new strip, because odds are nothing will have changed except Gils lemonade glass.

  1. Ah ,,, the first feeble glimmer of a plot. Too bad they have to wrap this up in two weeks to begin the fall story line. (They ARE going to wrap this up in two weeks, right?)
True: “I don’t have to go to Miami of Ohio. There’s lots of good fits. California of Pennsylvania. Indiana of Pennsylvania. Washington of St. Louis!”
    Rodney: “How about Illinois?”
True: “Yeah … where is that, again?”

  2. I’m sure True will end up at EMU. His bunkmate, Nippleless Nippleby there, will go to Da U.

  3. Wow, these guys are going to be fighting over signing at Miami of Ohio. Who wouldn’t want to play in that huge 24,000 seat stadium. Screw Ohio State or Norte Dame. Why would you want to go to those places when Miami of Ohio is in play.

  4. BTW what is Rodney doing under those covers?

  5. Perhaps sometimes during the next two weeks True will settle on a VERY small college, one where he can study full time, throw some footballs, and play tuba for the marching band at halftime. I admit I am disappointed Miami is ruled out. It’s an actual university, and it’s clear which is the dog and which is the tail, unlike the upper echelon schools in D-1.
