What a whirlwind of non-action in today’s strip! First we read about yesterday’s news today that Rodney has made his commitment. The additional tidbit about him being the number one overall prospect is interesting. Then, we find out that Sedrick has also tweeted his selection of Texas. If that didn’t get you fired up enough, we get the notorious Rey Lujan, who enjoys all of this attention, saying that he will end the attention by presumably selecting Miami of Ohio. Simply fascinating!

Bonus points: I award no bonus points for today’s snoozer of a strip.

  1. So … True spent the summer finding fault with fans’ obsession with the college football recruiting process. He made such an impression on the other camp guys that they decided to Stick It To The Man and … announce their selections on Twitter, rather than with a press conference.
The summer story line started on 13 July. By my count, that’s 39 days, or 117 panels, that Rubin squandered.

  2. I emphatically (albeit respectively) disagree! No snoozers here.

P1: prepscoop.com is a real thing! At least it is now; I just bought the domain! (Now, what to do with my new toy?)

P1 bonus: Hey, someone is still using Apple’s OS 7.6

    P2: #GottaBeTrue is a real hashtag. However, it’s not exactly trending…

P3: The lightning strike splitting the panel is tremendously not a snoozer.

  3. Nothing says “stick it to the man” like committing to play football at large, state schools whose football programs generate revenue comparable with the GDP of Moldova like Oregon and Texas. Was #GottaBeTrue really just about putting Scout.com out of business?

  4. The summer story line would have been better served by Gil’s 19th Hole Adventure.
This whole “Young Athlete Monetization Bad!” arc hasn’t done anything but fall flat on its face over and over.

  5. Rey thinks rather highly of himself. He’s not a basketball player. Does anyone in Indiana really care?

  6. As someone originally from Indiana, and from the Northwest portion, which couldn’t really give a hoot about the rest of the overgrown cornfield full of cretins, no.
    Oh, well.

  7. Texas boy couldn’t text “Hook ’em Horns”? Too many characters?

Be right back with today’s strip.
