Ready For Kenzie Frenzy?

You know the best way to introduce us to a new girls basketball player? How about having her stand in the foreground, torso only in frame, peeling off (putting on?) her gym clothes?  Sounds about right.

Kenzie Hanley is joining the basketball team. First, she and unnamed teammate have to be teleported from the locker room to the gym. Panel 2 is that last phase of the teleportation, after the shimmering part when their forms are all white. Kenzie just barely fits into the device. Close one! Milford is a place of magic!

  1. I think that Kenzo is aware of how tall she is. Whats to understand. Rather a stupid comment by unknown shadow figure.

  2. Not even inexplicable 7 game football schedules can keep Milford Mudlark Record Book.xlsx from its appointed rounds.

Yes, this is the shortest season of depicted football action since Milford Mudlark Record Book.xlsx begins tracking game-by-game records, shorter even than 2005’s 8 game season (the Ira “Brick” House season for those hwo remember it). Other than 2005 and this year, every season has depicted at least 9 regular season games.

    Milford Mudlark Football 2015
Record: 4-3 (3-3 in Valley Conference)

    W vs Oakwood 41-30
    W @ Bastrop 14-7
    W @ Jefferson
    L @ Madison
    L vs New Thayer 14-21
L @ Goshen (not explicitly stated, but a very reasonable assumption)
    W vs Valley Tech

Valley Conference foes Central and Tilden* do not appear this season, Central for the first time and Tilden for the first time since 2001. Oakwood and Valley Tech are now the only two opponents Milford has played every season since 2001.

    * It is possible that Milford did play Tilden this season, considering this strip from October 17th where Holly wishes Mimi “good luck at Tilden tonight”. Milford Mudlark Record Book.xlsx does not count this as a game with an unknown outcome for a couple of reasons, though the debate remains open for including it.
    – One is that we don’t see any of it depicted, or see it discussed by anyone who is a part of the football program. Mimi has been involved with the volleyball team in years past, so it is possible Holly is speaking of that as opposed to wishing the football team luck through the wife of the football coach.
    – Two is that the first episode of “Welcome Back Carter” debuts after the Bastrop game (game 2) and the second after the Jefferson game (game 3). The first episode of the show seems to cover Milford through its first two games, but subsequent episodes seem to cover each week at the school and a single game.

Gil’s record since 2001 now stands at 85-52-2 with 2 unknowns, with a 70-40-2 with 1 unknown record in the Valley Conference. He is 6-2 in the playdowns with 2 State Title Game appearances and 1 Championship. Gil has beaten Valleye Conference foes Central, Goshen, New Thayer, Oakwood, and Valley Tech at least 10 times since 2001 and has lost 10 times to Madison. His record since 1958, minus the “lost years” of 1996-2000 is 295-128-18 with 2 unknowns.

27 named characters appeared in the 2015 football season, 13 of them new to the strip. I’m not sure we have any Hall Of Name candidates, but here are the new ones.
Dory Darwin, Breck Darwin, Holly Dobbs, Alan (Bitt)Mayne, Janice, Pete De Windt, Joey, Darcelle, Grady, Trish Spanos, Trish Spanos’ Aunt, Raymond, and “Dory’s Tiny Brain”.

Milford Mudlark Record Book.xlsx will return at the conclusion of basketball season. Will we see a playdown appearance or more than 8 games?

  3. As always, big ups to billytheskink for his slavish devotion to these records. I dare say that more effort went into that post than my own blogging for this whole dismal season.

  4. MacKenzie MacHanley, Welcome to the Jungle!

Welcome to the jungle we take it day by day
If you want it you’re gonna bleed but it’s the price to pay
And you’re a very sexy girl that’s very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights but you won’t get there for free!

  5. I can’t wait to see the torrid love affair between True Standish and Kenzie Hanley. Anything is better than the winter we went through the dying player about 15 years ago. At the time, the lady in dispatch and work and I would take bets when they’d just kill him off already.

  6. […] clear here, panel one is not a carryover from yesterday. That is clearly some other player whom Frenzie Kenzie has just bowled […]
