Playing Below The Rim, Beneath The Basket, Or Below The Belt?

Filed under: actual action, anatomically implausible, basketball — timbuys @ 8:58 am

What’s this? Actual Action? There’s a lot to unpack here and I’ve not got the time to do it. Say this about Whigrub, they aren’t exactly hiding their cards with this arc.

Bonus point: I really wish I could read that guy’s hat.

  1. (Kenzie was sent to get into her uniform. She returns to the bench).
Mimi: “OK, you’re going in. Remember everything about footwork and positioning from those videos?”
    Kenzie: “Sure, coach!”
Mimi: “Well, forget all that. Did you see that episode of ‘Criminal Minds’ last week? The one where …”
Kenzie: “Where they found pieces of the girl’s body in three different states?”
    Mimi: “That’s right.”
    Kenzie: “I got this.”

  2. I was hoping the hat said “WAK”, but that last letter is too narrow. I guess it says “WAI”?

    Oh yeah!
    Kenzie’s here, bringing the hurt
Kenzie’s got, no time to flirt (with Ken)

  5. But will we get an old-school Marty Moon shock jock routine too? We’d better.

  6. On our soccer teams, we had two kinds of enforcers. Type A would incite the opponent to commit an obvious foul (one of them would even preface this by telling the offender “I’m going to get you thrown out of this game.”) Type B was the basic destroyer, who would “accidentally” flatten the dirty player. Kenzie is probably not skilled enough to fulfill the type A role…

  7. Okaaay – Panel 3 is no way. No way there are Belts on basketball shorts! And the hat says WDIG. Look real close. Makes sense; Martys old radio station.

  8. […] to add: Where does this leave us on the whole who is that guy in the hat […]
