This Week in Milford

Dont hit that branch! I’m kidding !

Filed under: Gil Thorp, Kenzie Hanley — robmize2013 @ 6:09 pm

I dont know, I still think its odd for 2 people who havent even gone out together, sans a coffee place, to be kissing already. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I think its a bit premature. The snow looks lovely, and for Max to be so cold, he isnt even wearing a hat. And the girls these days are all dolled up in their furry long boots in this weather, not tennis shoes. P2 Max is so smitten he’s about to walk into a tree branch. And he’s caught up to Kenzie in the height department, without Bobby Howrys help either! And P3 is odd too, with Kenzie’s arm around Max in a consoling way. Theyve also switched positions, with Kenzie on his right in P2 and on his left in P3. That tree bothers me too – its so close to the sidewalk it might as well be growing from the pavement. And the branches got higher between panels too.

I like the italicized I’m kidding to indicate inflection. Otherwise we have a nice story for a change but we’ll see where it goes.

  1. All I know is that yesterday and today are possibly indicative of some serious snogging. Which supports Rob’s point that things are all of a sudden seeming to move too quickly. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…

  2. You know who’s missing? The US Rugby assistant coach calling Kenzie and Mimi twice a week to check up on how the injury rehab is going.
Also missing: True and his dad frantically calling every D1 football program in the country to see if anyone still has a scholarship.

  3. “Nice milestone” ? “Milestone” Really? Like there’s a Gantt chart for this, this project? This is honestly the funniest thing I’ve read in GT for awhile. That Max, he’s sure a player… “milestone”.

No more with the baseball analogies, it’s all about project management now. He was trying to get to second base, now it’s all about the critical path.

  4. I actually kinda like the budding relationship. Two teens actually treating each other as equals? Refreshing.

Which means we’re about to get an onslaught of teasing by Tonsure Boy and the rest of the locker room gang.

  5. Good point about the football scholarship. National Signing Day for football scholarships was last week. Whither True?

Also, too much attention is being given to a potential height difference between Kenzie and Maxwell. Though he’s a guard, he’s still a basketball player, so likely he’s at least close to six feet tall, if not over that — and I doubt that Amazon Girl would be too much taller than 6 ft. and also be decent at rugby.

  6. Lift weights? She can start by moving that dead horse she’s been beating.

  7. “Don’t hit that branch”? More like “Watch out for that tree!”

    Saturday post in the works.
