Knucklehead, that is an insult I haven’t heard in a long time… Congrats to the folks who sussed out that it would be Wake Forest. What the heck even is a Demon Deacon anyway?

Who cares about any of that, though? It’s back to basketball and Ken Brown is hurt and, and, is Kaz actually pulling off the puffy turtleneck and blazer look? No. No he is not.

  1. Alternate dialogue, panel 2: “Perennial weak sister in a killer conference, he’ll get murdered by SEC defenses, and my God, look at this mascot! What the hell was True thinking?”

SHUT UP AND TALK, YOU KNUCKLEHEAD!
    -Coach Thorp–

Well, I have always said we project our own attitudes onto fictional characters, thus I am hoist by my own petard in predicting True would pass on D-1. (In addition to being a performer and designer, I also handle petard rentals for the northeastern US.)

  3. Of course, though, John S. Walters, playing in the ACC he might not confront many SEC defenses. I also don’t think of the ACC as a ‘killer conference”, it’s probably the weakest of the Power 5 (SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12).

  4. Gil: “Great academics, strong conference, room to grow.”
    Mimi: “Wonderful!”
Gil: “Typically, 3 – 9, and the rostrer is already cluttered with young quarterbacks.”
Mimi: “I’m going to withdraw ‘wonderful’.”

  5. Dunno Moon – regardless of what you might think about the coach, Clemson FB has been pretty good lately.

  6. True can give rousing locker room speeches about how “Riley Skinner isn’t walking through that door!”

  7. […] Boo for Boo becoming a close talker! Apparently a softball knuckleball is a thing. Whaddaya reckon has made Boo less ornery? The prospect of road trips to Winston-Salem? […]
