The Way People Are Reacting

Panels one and two retread ground that has been well trodden, so let’s focus on panel three where we get some of that old time religion from Marty spewing bilious indignation over the shortcomings of teenage boys.

Help me out here: were we given to understand that big things were expected this year? Sure, Ken what’s his name was shown to be pretty good, but other than that we mostly saw Maxwell committing silly fouls as an undersized ‘scrappy’ guard. A quick spin through the archives indicates a potential record of 2-3 or 2-4 and that Ken’s surname is Brown. It also indicates that I spent way too much time on this today.

  1. I predict Kenzie will “goon it up” on Marty. That’ll get the good feeling back.

  2. Say, that looks almost like a plausible radio studio. When did Marty get out of his crate?

  3. Raven-haired beauty with an open-collared shirt, “You’ll get the good feeling back.”

2nd girl, statuesque with mod boyish hairdo, “I know…”

Cue sleazy electric guitar. So, what’s with Marty’s right hand under the desk?

  4. I’m just happy to see Marty Moon doing Marty Moon things for the first time in what feels like years. Probably because it has literally been years…

  5. “You know who else has underachieved, Marty? That guy who gave Holly Dobbs free air time in exchange for, basically, nothing. Would you like cream and sugar with your steaming hot mug of STFU or will you take it black?” – Gil

  6. I seem to recall a serious injury to Ken Brown, which would make this whole “underachieved” thing pure nonsense. But hey, that’s what Marty does best.

  7. Two things are wrong right now. One is that Maxwell is being a dork about the fact Kenzie rescued him. The other is that Kenzie is allowing “peer pressure” to guide her. The latter is harder to fix.

  8. Leisl is swatting that I FEEL LIKE A FREAK balloon.
