Smacking The Cow

Filed under: Milford Idiots — nedryerson @ 5:55 am

Barry and his freckles continue to rage on in the locker room. One wonders how much detail he picked up through the crack in his parents’ bedroom door. Did Del Bader ascribe all these qualities to Judge Hiatt or did Barry/Darth fill in the details on his own? Either way, it is more than a tad extreme for Barry to shout this at the top of his lungs to a locker room full of kids, even if most of them have tuned him out because they’ve already had their fill after, what, two games into the baseball season.

But one guy is listening. (Nice looming presence in Panel 2, btw.) Ken Brown is not amused. Will there be smacking? Is Coach Thorp behind that door, looking at his calendar, deciding on what day in July he’ll emerge and say something to somebody about something? Stay tuned.

  1. Hashtag freckled outrage. If Ken Brown wasn’t such a nice guy, Young Barry would find himself stuffed into a locker in tomorrow’s installment.

  2. As I say, Meinhoff’s stock is crashing– he could in fact be in a locker or trash can by tomorrow. Even Col Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson in “A Few Good Men”) would have the decency to say “Well, don’t I feel like a horse’s ass,” but this is the Badercentric universe the Meinhoffs live in.

  3. Does Central City only have one female judge? Otherwise, how could Ken Brown possibly know it’s his Auntie/Stepmom/Mistress Judge Hiatt Darth is complaining about? Or perhaps when he heard “ugly cow” he knew immediately who it had to be?

  5. Big Ken Brown is about to get up in Master Bader’s grill and “make it all happen”.

  6. I don’t want to jinx anything, but the Chief is on a roll– three terrific panels in a row, including the kid under two elbows in panel 2. If there were a thought bubble over his head it would clearly read “WHY didn’t I volunteer to go get the towels from the laundry room?”

  7. That’s a very apt political pose in P1. I’m trying for subtlety here, which is so not apt this election cycle. Let the down-voting begin!

  8. Moon – the May 2nd strip said there were 2 judges handling DUIs in Central City (Hiatt & Barron). Or at least I think that’s what Gil-in-the-lawyerin’-glasses meant by “coin toss” — although maybe coin toss is how he enters a plea.

  9. I missed that kid down there in the corner. He does look like he’s thinking, “somebody ought to shut you up”. Fortunately, here comes Ken Brown.
