And The Winner For ‘Least Empathetic Mom’ Is…

Panel one: Mimi’s words say she cares, her posture says it’s time to blow this sad scene and attack a pitcher of spiked lemonade.

Panel two: Hey, we always complain about them telling not showing, but here the other teammates are quite literally shown supporting Carrie.

Panel three: Nice wainscotting in the Bader household there. Not sure it goes so well with the stickers on the door motif Barry has going but…

  1. What has young Master Bader been doing behind closed doors?

Perhaps he and Mama Bader should think about slinking out of town in the dead of night.

  2. Okay, so we introduce Carrie Hobson, let her get pummeled on the mound and let down the entire team (plus Dead Boo), show her crying, and I bet we never ever see her again. Because in panel 3, we’re back to the boys!

The entire girls’ team was a McGuffin. None of the players was developed as a character. They just get to try, fail, and cry. Grrrh.

  4. Didn’t the Hobson Sobs open for the ‘Pranks at their last CC midnight gig?

P1: If you block out Crybaby Carrie with your left hand, you can imagine Mimi is speaking directly to EVERYONE, including us.

  5. Welp, there is is. Twelve long delayed– and consecutive– panels on Mimi and her team, and now with a thud we return to Barry Bader sulking in his tent. If only Agamemnon had not ignored good advice and killed someone out of stupidity, Barry’d still be the hero of the piece! Let’s hope he remembers that his first baseman is Ken, not Hector. This may turn into some “happy” ending with Barry apologizing for being an asshole while the fishermen and their wives dance in the courtyard, but I don’t think that’s quite enough. Too many heels in the picture…
