Commenter Appreciation Day

Filed under: Boredom in Milford, comic crossovers — timbuys @ 6:53 am

I still got nuthin’ to say about this stuff. If you want true excitement when it comes to teens, alcohol, driving and death, check out Judge Parker

Now that is some exciting, if also nonsensical, stuff!

Meanwhile, in Milford (Central City?) we have the following:

Sorry, folks, but I can’t work with this. I hope you enjoyed two days of the Judge though!

  1. Mrs. Bader realizes she can’t afford the house without all that industrial solvent money. She sells the property, takes her son, and moves in with her sister in Menomonee Falls, and WE NEVER HAVE TO LOOK AT BARRY BADER AGAIN!!!

  2. I don’t swear often, but I do believe Gil Thorp would be improved by the occasional appearance of a cussing trucker.

  3. JP 8/23 P1: When defenseman Denis Osipov isn’t busy playing defense in the Kontinental Hockey League, he’s making vodka!

(This is also an excuse to mention how Philadelphia Flyers goalie Roman Cechmanek got traded & played in L.A. for a hot minute, then retired back to Czech Republic & opened a brewery. I like that story.)

  4. I guess that’s supposed to be the school cafeteria but it also could be the prison mess hall. If it is the cafeteria I assume it’s still the 2015-16 school year. The 2016-17 school year started last week in my town.

  5. 12 years…somewhat less than the length of this storyline.

  6. @Jive – Only if Steve Luhm does the floors in The Big House too.

I like the sparse narration and dialog today; while the expression from the zaftig Bailiff in P2 speaks volumes. You’d think we were reading lyrics from some sad sad prison blues song.

And I agree about JP – Manley takes a break from drawing impressive feminine superstructures and gets to dabble in pure unadulterated teenage horror. That’s certainly some good arts.

  7. That Judge Parker is incredible. I’m on the edge of my seat. (I personally think the trucker should have been listening to Coast2Coast AM and ranting about chupacabras but I guess this isn’t the place to get into that.)

Meanwhile, ugh. We don’t know if True (and/or “the team”) and Barry had any kind of meaningful interaction in the court room, so we wait. Is there another baseball game to be played so we can have a typically unsatisfactory conclusion?

  8. So now the guys repair to their kitchens and start cranking out casseroles for the Bader family, right?

    Comment by John S. Walters — August 24, 2016 @ 10:12 am

  9. Maybe the kids will organize a benefit concert — remember Aljo Ames and Glory Alpaca from Elon?

This concert will be called — wait for it — Bader-aid.

  10. The Chief has been hitting some long ones lately– p 1 two days ago, with Barely waiting alone, head in hands, and today, the bailiff looking away with the perfect expression. Perfect because it captures the atmosphere of a courtroom, where half the people are terrified, the other half are angry, and the bailiffs and marshals all carry guns “just in case.”
