That’s Your Memorial?

082916

Wow, six days from concept to completion! It’s a stunning achievement in folk art cabinetry. Is that what it is, some kind of display cabinet? The scale is kind of hard to accurately gauge, but the shelves might accommodate six inch high objects, like softballs or troll dolls. It might have the same inner dimensions as a hollowed out tree.

  1. That… THAT… is it? When they roll it out, I think Boo’s ghost will rise up out of her grave and haunt the halls of Milford High until they throw that monstrosity onto the bonfire.

Also, “six days from concept to completion” would be a blessed development for this plotline.

  2. What the hell is that? I hope they give us a better look than that. Looks as hideous as that State Championship trophy they won for football.

  3. Random thoughts:
P1: Milford fielding a jai alai team now?
P2: My father was in the Navy. I seem to remember him talking about Ms. Forrestal. Part of a traveling USO show. She got around.
P3: “Six days from concept to completion”? Has Jerry Jenkins taken over the strip again?

  4. The district loved True’s idea of making it baseball season in perpetuity? That is the “memorial” True is talking about, right?

  5. Yet another brick for the “True is not like us” statuary. We are not worthy. I mean, who else took six days to create His masterpiece?

  6. If this doesn’t qualify for the pantheon of mysterious objects, nothing else will.

  7. On his weekly radio show Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson tells moderator Stan Cotten, “I don’t know where the hell the Standish kid is. He needs to be here. For a freshman to miss all of camp is ludicrous. Apparently he hasn’t finished high school! Are you kidding me! It’s almost September! We will revoke his scholarship and never recruit in that tank town again! I’ve never heard of such a thing!”
Host Stan Cotten talked with WDIG’s Marty Moon in Milford, (state unknown) to inquire of Standish’s whereabouts and grumbled, “For better and in this case worse, Gil Thorp runs things here.”

  8. If it’s that “thing” in the background, it kind of reminds me of this thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfnZV9KPJ4g And that’s not a good thing.
