I Wonder How, Linguistically Speaking, Elbow Up Is Related to Ease Up.

Distracted as the Milford WR was by the blaring, levitating Ampeg 6×10 speaker cabinet, I’m not sure we can pin that one entirely upon Hakeem.

Hey, is that Mimi coaching from the sidelines? Perhaps it’s Heather? Will lineman Kevin Pelwecki provide the needed defensive stop?

My goodness, all of these questions! Nothing like some actual actual action to get things going!

  1. Poor crowd at Oakwood for the season opener…

Is Heather trying to tell Hakeem how to lean like a cholo?

  2. So we can assume our man Hakeem throws like Philip Rivers? Or Teddy Bridgewater?

  3. I think that’s supposed to be Pelwecki giving the free advice to Hakeem, although the porcelain skin and not-dark-enough hair could understandably throw you off.

  4. I was trying to figure out if that was Heather or Mimi myself, but now that John S has brought this up, I notice a player seated near the speaker, in eyeblack. It this is in fact an ill-drawn KP someone should lean on him for presuming to do Gil or Kaz’s job. In any case the import seems to be that Hakeem is “throwing like a first baseman.”

  5. I’m thinking the advice-giver is a woman — isn’t that lipstick she has on?
In other words, Hakeem is so bad that even a sophomore girl transfer student from Sweden, at her first-ever American Football game, recognizes his bad mechanics and calls him out.
Perhaps she had initially hoped to meet him, perhaps even suggest a date — but now she sees that Hakeem is not quite The Dream she had thought.
