Rick Scott Don’t Need This Crap

Filed under: Exploding Eyeball Syndrome, football, Trainer Rick Scott — nedryerson @ 5:24 am

Looks like HE the TE is still several steps ahead of the Milford coaching staff and she’s taking it upon herself to exit the game. That’s just swell.

Panel 1 has one of those M.C. Escher like illusions where Trainer Rick Scott is next to Heather from the waist up but behind her from the waist down. In Panel 2, Trainer Rick Scott is at his Jean Luc Picard-iest. Dr. Pearl, here’s my completed retirement packet. Make it so!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Stay safe.

  1. The Escher illusion may come from the fact Trainer Rick Scott’s left knee is on the “wrong” side of HE’s right knee, but combined with the dialog it does have howler potential.

  2. Apparently Heather is faking an injury so that it forces jughead Gil and his staff to play the JV TE and ultimately win the game. The coaching staff is obviously too dumb to understand what she pointed out in the film and insists on playing her even though it jeopardizes their chances of victory.

  3. If this is the selfless conclusion of HE’s career, I’ll be sorely disappointed. On the other hand, I see a bright future for Heather as an unpaid and uncredited assistant coach. Maybe it’ll turn out that her mom was a star basketball player in college, and Heather knows just as much about the hardwood as the gridiron.

  4. First True Standish, and now Heather Burns is faking an injury to force a substitution. Rick Scott has got to be contemplating submitting resumes to other schools…

  5. You know, the thing about Rick Scott is that he’s gotta truly love working in high school athletics. Sure, he does it because it pays the bills but he really enjoys helping the kids out when they’re hurt and, if he can, passing some of the wisdom he’s gained from a life well lived. The one thing, though, that Rick has never been able to get out of his head is how every time there is even the slightest chance he might be able to move into more of a coaching role, Gil gives the gig to whichever rando happens to be passing through town and, this time, to his erstwhile protege.

  7. P2: Good one, Ned. Yup, when Jean-Luc is not fighting Klingons or Gorn out in the galaxy somewhere, he has a second job, earning extra income as a trainer for a local high school. Sometimes things are a little slow on the Enterprise so the money comes in handy. I’m sure there’s an ATM in the 3rd Quadrant or Canis Major where he can make his deposits(or withdraw cash to pay for gas at the 7-11 near Deneb so he can land on earth in time for the game each week).
