But HE Had Other Plans

I think we’re caught in some sort of loop here. The coaching staff realizes that Heather Burns is not the answer at TE then they decide on another course of action. That’s when the time loop starts over and the coaches can’t wait to get Heather back on the field. But then again, Gil is saying we’ll try to get you on the field, so he could be a little aware of the previous incremental advance in strategy and maybe he just didn’t remember that Heather doesn’t seem to be all that fixated on playing time so he thinks he has to stroke her ego. There’s just no firm footing here in terms of this plot or the motivation of these characters, so all I can do at this point is cast about for some thread to hold onto. All we have now is that Heather is doing all of the strategic thinking for the football team at this point.

  1. At least Heather is present in the time loop. Poor ol’ Kevin Pelwecki is off in limbo somewhere. Remember when he was being set up as the star of the fall storyline? Whatever happened to that?

  2. Umm … Ned … plot? Motivation? When was the last time we saw any of that?

  3. If there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that Gil clearly isn’t motivated to do nuthin’ this season. Clearly he doesn’t care about the other seniors or, at the very least, Hakeem Archer.

  5. She’s a senior but there are freshman that have been in the program longer than her. And when does head coach let a scrub know what the plan is? Gil is such a turd.

  6. WTH – who cares that shes a senior? Only been on the team a month at most – this storyline is falling off the tracks. Cant believe any of this matters at all. If Gil spent his time preparing the team properly he wouldnt have these issues replacing boys with a girl who never played. Now hes worried about her recieving playing time she hasnt earned. I give up.

  7. Do you realize that it has been well over a month, actually rapidly approaching 2 months since Heather fed Moose’s crave to be the QB with those informal workouts? And will Moose return or is that open for debate? I think Moby Dick swallowed him whole and MIGHT spit him out at a later time, dependent on 1) Gil’s mood. Sometimes Bad Hair Day, an anathema for Coach T, can render him a little shaky in times of tribulation. 2) the plotline gods. The sacrifices to appease their wrath wasn’t sufficient. Moose was just a Milk Bone to a mongrel.
Geez, Jerry Pulver was a jerk as a player but we didn’t go through Krusty the Klown to Homer Simpson to Roy Gillen to the Ironwood Ingots to Wally Lamb to Ronald Reagan before Gil finally handed him an issue of Guideposts, flippantly telling him “Ah, read the damn thing, Pulver, it’ll curb your attitude”, Gil and Mimi riding on Trigger into the sunset, living happily ever after.

  8. Oh Baby! I don’t think Heather means “different” like Minnesota’s: “Gee, that’s different.” She means, like the Valley T tilt’s gonna to be one gadget play after another! Senior’s Rule!
