Mimi, No!

Filed under: Mimi Thorp — nedryerson @ 8:28 am

All I want for Christmas is to see what it looks like when Mimi smashes the football helmet down over the head of that snowman, scraping away all of its rounded edges and ornamental facial features.

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the time-out.

P.S. Those Thorp children are never coming back, are they?

  1. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Leaving aside the helmet, look at those massive branches they managed to get in there for the arms. Don’t we have a ‘big arms’ tag just for moments like this?

  2. They bring the kids out of the basement once a year to be the snowman. Good ol’ Gil Thorp. How I hate him!

  3. Anyone feeling nostalgic for times gone by or the elusive Thorp kids can enjoy some vintage TWIM Christmas posts courtesy of Ned and Teenchy.

  4. What is it with this full-panel stuff? My God, leave that to Snuffy Smith and Dennis the Menace. Once upon a time, Milford would be in a triple OT war with Oakwood, Gil and Tod Andrews jawing at each other(though they were blood brothers when Tod was Gil’s assistant), Mimi would be in the stands shouting in the stands at Tod’s wife about Tod’s wife’s mother, an Oakwoodite and a Mudlark would be jockeying underneath in an elbowfest for the rebound, bits of loose confetti flying every which way even when a correctable error was in force, the ball dangling precariously on the rim, the Oakwoodite and the Mudlark still locked in matrimony awaiting the ax, er, the ball to fall for 2 points, all that bumping and shoving gone to waste, OR the ball to lip out and the dentures REALLY getting punched out for the rebound, only for Coach T to call a 20-second time out and wish everybody Season’s Greetings. How they could surround him in his panel with a wreath and ornaments after all that sweat and 2 technicals remains a mystery, presumably to never be solved, filed in the same category with Jimmy Hoffa and Machu Picchu. Hey, it’s Christmas. Continuity errors were forgiven. Milford made the most of Jubilee. BTW, i miss Mimi’s Gibson Girl hairdo. Now she looks like the 4th member of Charlie’s Angels.

  5. I would like to lay aside my humor for the moment to remember why we celebrate Christmas. My humor is dedicated to my Lord Jesus Christ who makes EVERYTHING possible for me. i will never preach on this site and everybody is free to worship the God they serve. Jesus is the Reason for the Season for me because he has given me so much. I am a better man because of Him. Jesus is Lord of my life.
