Well its nice that Gil and Kaz need to look at the stat sheet (where the hell do they get one at a high school game, unless its the actual scorebook, and I doubt it) to figure out how Raging Ryan pitched and how long. They dont bother to count pitches, or count to 2 innings without paper help.
Good ol Barry Bader still bitching about his spot in the order — I’m sure I told a story last year about my similar experience coaching pony leaguers in the 90’s. But I cant find it now so trust me – –
And back in Trouble (Central) City, we have girl softball players discussing Ryan at Milford, as if they think he should be somewhere else.. stay tuned, my nose detects some interesting times ahead in the near future..

Same thing with Standish for the last two years. You get a kid with an absurdly fast heater, and Gil has him relieving. Any other high school coach would start him as frequently as the state pitch count rules permit.

robmize, I think Gil and Kaz are reading from a Gideon’s Bible they hocked from the (W)Ellington Holiday Inn. A Mudlark in back of Gil is in all likelihood absorbing the Gospel of Matthew where Jesus proclaimed The Beatitudes. I’ll bet a root beer float from The Bucket that the His and Hers towels were cleverly stashed in the equipment bag.
Then there’s the bus(we think). This geodesic dome contraption, designed by R. Buckminster Fuller pro bono just before his passing, ought to be eco-friendly and gas-efficient, thereby saving Milford taxpayers a lotta money. One less headache for the Milford School Board or the Milford Athletic Department.

T Drew, the savings on the bus cost is where the money came from for Casper Heenan to travel first class. I had kind of forgotten about him with both softball and baseball stories going, and the Central City intrigue concerning our new fastballer. Does anybody else think Daffy will be involved in that plot, perhaps revealing that van Auken was banned in Central City for losing his temper and beaning an umpire?

Good one, vaganova. That would be a logical destination for the money, a transfer not necessarily legal. And I agree with your assessment on the plot which is assuming Hitchcock’s “Topaz” intrigue. I wonder if Hitchcock’s obligatory cameo appearance occurs in the bleachers when Milford takes on, say, Oakwood or Valley Tech. Anyway, I like your analysis. You da man.
