How Many Athletic Transfers Does MHS Get Anyway?

Filed under: ?, Milford Weirdos, Prairie Style Windows — timbuys @ 6:39 am

Seriously, it’s gotta be every other plot where some kid from outta town comes to Milford.

I’ll leave commentary regarding Ms. Rizik’s dubious listening and advisory skills to the TWIM community.

  1. Did she borrow that hoop earring from Rhoda of the Mary Tyler Moore Show? It’s huge.

  2. “Kid Leaves Private School”, that’s a headline that’ll sell papers…

Note to Dafne, usually kids change schools because they and their parents have moved. This is especially true when their previous school was in a completely different city, as is the case here.

  3. Gil: “Milford would never recruit other school’s kids! Never! Goes against everything high school sports stands for. We have a long tradition of home-grown talent, from Cully Vale, to Bryce Larkin, to John Pascoe, to True Standish, to Ryan Van Auken!”

  4. Time for Milfordverse athletes to do what they do best, which is to get their collective noses all up in other people’s business…

  5. @drewfunk, I was going to start a list but didn’t have the time. Don’t forget Kenzie Hanley, that Irish kid who played safety, etc.

  6. Didn’t Hadley v Baxendale wash ashore too?

  7. “I think you should talk to the guy with a known anger issue. I suggest out back next to the dumpster after school’s out.”

“I think you should try the Ken Brown/Mike Granger method, and do everything you can possibly think of EXCEPT talk to Ryan.”

    Comment by John S. Walters — May 16, 2017 @ 11:41 am

  8. How did I forget Kenzie Hanley and Whatsisname Gallagher? (Checking, turns out it was Terry Gallagher). Also, Brenda Larkin, Wynn and Wendy Wiley… although it looks like Hadley V Baxendale was raised in Milford.

  9. Thanks, drewfunk. I remember Hadley v Baxendale introducing herself as “Hadley v Baxendale, point guard!” and probably jumped to the confusion that she was new to town. “Terry” Gallagher, yes. Not a bad sort, as I remember, but suborned by the kid who thought he was a branding/advertising genius. I have mercifully forgotten who that kid was, but he was the first of series of juvenile poseurs (boy marketer, boy attorney, boy coach, etc) who effed up one plot after another.

  10. Baxendale came across as new to town because Mimi didn’t know who she was when she introduced herself as “Hadley V. Baxendale, point guard.”

Basketball’s Derek Gordon and Ted Pearse, and baseball’s Jimmy Hughes were a few other notable transfer talents from the 2000s.
