In Another Time and Another Place

I’m not going to try and parse the crimes of the volcano as interpreted by Dafne. I will say that Ms. Rizik seems to have a pretty tenuous grasp on her role as an advisor but that’s par for the course at Milford High.

  1. Got to say that after that ridiculous story a year and a half ago about the “reality show,” it’s nice to see school officials, in this case the newspaper advisor, following standard procedure. She’s right– the event WAS news in Kingswhoop a year ago, but it’s not here, unless the Trumpet is modeled on the Enquirer.

  2. I feel the teacher has a little “Horatio Cain” in her–playing with her glasses…

  3. This title has the old Jerry Lee Lewis song in my head, so maybe passing it on will get rid of it.

Even if the van Auken story is never printed, Dafnê can still cause trouble.

  4. I’ve been critical of Ms Rizk, but she’s still light years ahead of Mr. “Do Whatever You Have To And Then I’ll Punish You For Doing Whatever You Have To” Kotesky.

Worst Possible Story Outcome: Dafne doesn’t publish her story, Cane beats up a girl at Milford, and a horrid round of “I Told You So”.

  5. I still say her move is to tip Gil and Ryan. The three Central girls are planning some kind of disruption, and both Gil and Ryan need to be prepared.

  6. It is news. This advisor is way off base. (Baseball pun intended)

  7. Nowhere in the strips leading up to this one was it said that the girl Van Auken hit was his girlfriend. How does Dafunk reach that conclusion?

  8. Ms. Rizk must have particapated in the Tractor Pull event at the Milford Fairgrounds before reporting for duty as the Journalism 101 teacher today. Use caution around the computers as there’s already enough mud being slung around. It’d be a shame if an Apple stopped functioning due to excess dirt, literally and figuratively.
And I just can’t enough of Daffy Duck’s Heard-it-through-the-Grapevine style. I wonder if that’s how Watergate got exposed.

  9. […] If ‘Cane hit some rando girl in Central City, how does Dafuq reach the conclusion that the girl he hit was his girlfriend? Why do I get the feeling that this little show by granddaughter of Tommie Smith (or John Carlos) […]
