The Little Girl Is Just Standing There, Hands On Her Hips, Getting Increasingly Cheesed At Gil.

I mean, she is shooting laser beams at Gil and, boy, you should have seen the look on her face when Gil recognized some rando with a fauxhawk but couldn’t place one of the most famous players to ever come out of the valley…

  1. And the lovely Jaquan has switched from the Tronix muscle shirt to the preppy Tronix polo, perfect for suburban golf outings. Glad to see he’s staying on brand.

Although a quick Internet check reveals that the real Tronix is a line of fishing gear, so maybe not.

  2. Is Trey holding something in his left hand in P2 or is it just the usual poorly drawn background? If he is, in fact, holding something, any ideas what it might be? A range-finder? A gun? (Hey, Trey, where you goin’ with that gun in your hand?)

  3. I think those are his sunglasses.

  4. I gone down to shoot my old lady/you know I caught her doin’ handoffs with another mannnn.

timbuys, I think you’re right, but I choked on my $1 menu triple layer nacho from the drive-thru at Taco Bell from J. D.’s comment, I was laughing so hard. I HAD to aid and abet in the call-and-response. And I thought at first it was a James Bond Special, the one Mr. Bond uses at the opening where he’s seen through his enemy’s navel(I presume that’s the perspective-ha) shooting at his enemy while that Duane Eddy guitar is pickin’ to the James Bond Theme. Once I zoomed P2 closer, yeah, again, I think you’re right.

There must have been an earthquake transpiring while Gil was teaching his daughter how to stroke through the windmill (“you have to time it so you don’t hit the blades”-ah, a teachable moment) and while Trey and Jaquan and Gil were exchanging pleasantries based upon the background in P2 where one plate is firmly nestled into the other one. Trips to Oakwood in the fall or Vallley games in general should be an adventure.

  5. You said it 12 years ago and it wasn’t necessary then. Not rounding down to 10 to make it simple. What a memory on this guy. Too bad his present day memory is awful. He forgot about the little girl he was tutoring on how to be a hacker. What a turd!

  6. Everybody else is speculating on motives; I am trying to figure out what Gi’s student is doing in panel 1. Preparing to hit a duck hook left handed? Lining up a putt? In either case, Gil is not in position to help.

We will have to appeal to billy for a ruling, but as I remember, Jaquan never played in the Valley League but for “Bishop Tardy,” a powerhouse from far away. As I recall, it was a BFD, as if PS 121 had gone up against Duke, and PS 121’s star, Trey Davis, had more or less held his own against one of the top prospects in the nation.
