Bader could play for Tilden…

Well here it is Memorial Day weekend, and graduations are going on this weekend plus a co-worker has her sons on Tuesday night, and in Milford its… the Conference Opener?? Another example of slow play thats not on the golf course. Bader looks like the saddest kid on earth as he ponders when Dafne will grill him about his dad like so many burgers and brats. Maybe he’s thinking .. if I could sneak over to the other bench and don a helmet, nobody will notice I’m playing for the other team! Hey, the way that Tildenite swung and missed by a mile even with the ball being straight as a string ( why is every pitch straight as a string?) Why dont we see ONE human being behind the Tilden batter? No fan, player, on-deck hitter, dugout shot, umpire out of position, announcer ( hey Marty  Moon, your suspension has ended) or reporter ( hey Marjie Ducey, would be nice to see you more then 3 times a year)?

Pelwecki goes yard in P2, and he’s quietly fading into the background in this storyline, (thank goodness. If I hear any more launch angle crap I’m running on the field myself and tackling him before he gets home.)

So maybe Bader will see the field again before summer starts. Or maybe he’ll graduate like everyone else and leave the team and this dreadful scene behind as he moves on to a college career as a wine taster. Sorry, a whine taster. Cheers!

  1. Why is that mopey turd on the bench? Send that cancer home. Moose looks about the size of Bader ,what happened? Oh right, he’s a 2nd sacker now. Look at Gil. All legs, no brain.

  2. Perhaps Gil is standing on circus clown stilts under his baseball pants? Otherwise Pelwecki wouldn’t be big enough for most Peewee football leagues, much less a star lineman on the high school varsity.

  3. robmize, sorry it took so long to respond(my dad’s business can get BUSY-ha) but I loved that video the other day on my post. That pretty well rounded out the day in a neat way. With all the talk about brawls and bad batting and baseball in general, that certainly weighed in with a resounding boom. And I liked the part where the concern was with Dave Kingman. Yup, Mr. Home Run or Strike Out was evidently and essentially the only one injured enough to perhaps be absent from the lineup. And much as I admired his towering tape measure jobs-heck,didn’t one land in someone’s pool WHILE THEY WERE SWIMMING?-he really wasn’t exactly a pennant enhancer. I do remember seeing him play when he was with the Mets when they took on the Braves at Fulton County Stadium. He was TALL and imposing. The dude could crank ’em.

The artwork in P1 could show up on the next Kate Bush album. Pouty Boy is in his Andy Dufresne outfit contemplating his break from Shawshank while the rest of the team sweat through the plot and look like they’re enjoying getting jacked around for the next couple of months in this 5-game season. That should be enough time for some dialogue and finishing up on homework. The jury is still out on the lab assignments.
Gotta hand it to you again, robmize. I would have never thought of a more appropriate video for our anti-hero than “Lonely Boy”. That one went right under my nose(ha ha). They taught how to fight and be an ass to Gillll, indeed. You da Man.

  4. Others probably thought of this some time ago, but this scenario just occurred to me: there was talk of Palooka playing second some time ago, but so far he has been the dh. What if Gil and Kaz move him to second, and replace Barely with a better hitter at dh, perhaps an off-duty pitcher. At least in my region, high school pitchers are usually also the best hitters on a team (because they’re the best athletes) and teams routinely put pitchers at first, dh, or left on their days off. If we think we’ve seen Barely’s fuse fully lit, wait to see if that happens.
