Meanwhile Barry Bader Is Posting Angry Rants To Youtube

And Gil hasn’t even noticed his absence from… practice? I guess? Shouldn’t Kevin be getting rejected as a QB from the local 7 on 7 teams?

Panel one: As I don’t understand the difference, with respect to baseball teams, between D-II and JuCo (and can’t be bothered to research it), I’m going to guess Gil did the ‘right’ thing in steering Ryan to D-II. Of course this is the second or third time we’ve even mentioned Ryan’s recruitment even though he’s a hard throwing lefty so… another job well done by all involved.

Panel two: “On the other hand, if he hurts his arm, they’ll drop him like a rock and he’ll end up pumping gas at the station outside of whatever town D-II School is in.”

Panel three: “What about The Secret?” “I suspect people will be asking why we’re still talking about that guy for the rest of our lives (of reading Gil Thorp).”

Minus point: What exactly is even going on today? Seriously, at this point I’d almost be OK going down to Milford Country Club to watch Gil ruin the game of golf for a bunch of preadolescents.

  1. Is this how we’re wrapping up the sprummer storyline? Barry’s a psycho and his life is ruined but his mom makes good brownies, Van Auken is off to a Tank Town college, and Pelwecki is pathetically deluded? This is bad, even by Rubin wrapup standards.

  2. Division II includes four year schools with greater restrictions on scholarships, scheduling, and the like than Division 1. Division 3, a large group, is even more restricted. There is also Div 1A, which includes the Ivy League and some others. It’s essentially Div 1 with no athletic scholarships and no out of season supervised practices. JUCO is a junior college (two year) classification.

If we were wrapping up, I’d agree with jvwalt’s assessment, but I don’t think we are. The Bader story, with or without the baseball team, has a good month to go. Sorry.

  3. Um… Exactly what the fuck does Gilberto mean by that last line?

  4. Must be a slow sports day, as usual, in Milford, for Marcie Douchey to be concerned with such hot topics as a couple of HS kids, who aren’t really that good to begin with, getting some ink. I agree with vaganova…the Bader story probably won’t die “for awhile”.

  5. Gil is wrong, “what about Kevin Pelwecki?” is something Kevin Pelwecki will be asking for the rest of his life. Because Pelwecki is a deluded attention seeker, you see.

  6. timbuys, another Minus Point while we’re on a roll: Marcie in that Bruce Lee outfit from his movie “Crouching Tiger, Sleepy Mudlark”. Should be out in the cinemas any day now. Real slam-bang action as Marcie and Bruce use their Kung Fu wisdom to fend off the town of Milford, one at a time of course, standard procedure in a martial arts movie or they’d get steamrolled. Really, kinda what Marcie is doing now, i.e., fending off the reality that Van Auken or Moose will be with the Mud Hens in the near future but reality will unfortunately run her over and Bruce Lee will be down at The Bucket.

  7. Bit of a close talker huh Gil? He seems to have moved in from P1 to P3. What a creep. And a turd!
