This Week in Milford

But Did Milford Beat Tilden?

Remember football?

Pepperidge Farm remembers

But Milford doesn’t

“VT P-U”? Is

Valley Tech playing Dover

Boys from Pimento?

Rough year for Techies

Old Dominion beat VT

Now it’s Milford’s turn

Milford not used to

Being number one for a while

Sign guy broke his wrist

Hiawatha James

Remember him from baseball?

Great name but no lines

Know what else is an

Uncharacteristic romp?

No Jansen and no Bolek

Also no cheap shots

Express or implied

Where’s the burial?

  1. Apparently, not only are the cheap shots from 1961, but the insults are too, such as the “P-U” reference. Those Mudlark fans sure are clever…..

  2. Hiawatha Jones? Is Crazy Horse Smith on the squad too?

  3. Beating Tech is nice
    But blog asks the important:
    Did they beat Tilden?

    Stripes all the way ’round
    On Canadian footballs
    Still used in Milford

    Hiawatha James…
    Is his younger sister named
    Minnehaha James?

    ‘Lark romp over Tech
    Is “uncharacteristic”?
    Won big last year too

    20, 20, 3
    “Big”, 16, 3, 2, 14
    Recent Tech margins

  4. In panel three, we are witnessing the ultimate taunt in the Milford/Tech rivalry: Delicately placing the football onto the padding of the goal post.

  5. After his tangle with Paul Beaudry on November 15, Hiawatha James underwent quite a conversion. Maybe it was just a tan that wore off.

  6. I kind of like the name Hiawatha James. Give me a little time and I may be able to come up with something. By the shores of Milford Gumee, by the shining trophy of Tru Standish. Hey, it’s Longfellow, America’s favorite bad poet. It’s not a high standard.

  7. 1. Yeah, Tech losing to ODU is something they’ll never, ever ever ever live down around here… And this is *NOT* even a good ODU team either, since they got run off the field by such powerhouses as Liberty, Rice, and Middle Tennessee as they crashed to a 4-8 record… Fuente is damn lucky Virginia choked away a certain victory in Blacksburg or else his ass would be on a very hot seat about now…

    2. White dudes named “Hiawatha” and “Tiki”? I’m still trying to figure out how so many of Reggie Cleveland’s All-Stars spring from such a dull, unremarkable two-stoplight nowhere town somewhere in Middle America….

    3. Yeah, I realize that deep down in the soul of this strip the cultural clock is forever stopped on the year 1976, but god help me I love the stripey football… Somebody needs to bring that back.

    4. Is Rubin going to tell us about that big thing that happened back in 1961?

  8. Look at all the students getting in to the game…You can tell it’s not 2018…not a smartphone in sight….most HS kids go to a game to bullshit, flirt, fuck around, talk shit, find out where the party is, but one thing that they don’t go to a game to do is actually watch it, because other than the band or the FB team, none of them truly give a fuck
