Your 2019 Lady Mudlarks: Flirtin’ With Disaster

The jokes will write themselves.

It’s only a matter of what kind of disaster will befall them.

I’m running with the B&W version of the strip ’cause I believe Mimi’s brunette locks to be a colorist’s anomaly, not an indication that she’s given up dyeing her hair in an effort to gain more attention for Milford girls’ sports or to fulfill Gil’s Kenzie Hanley fantasy.  Also pulling the Pantheon of Hair tag for Molly’s kinda sorta pixie cut.

  1. Teenchy, great insert. I was wondering if anybody else caught the corruption of the moniker. I know names are sometimes hard to conjure up but somebody resorted to their dusty pile of ’70’s albums when they ran dry of ideas.
Is Mahogany Rush the catcher? Wanda Halen the utility infielder? April Wine is a lock to start in left field. She’s got some pop to the bat. Will they change the name of the Valley Conference to Pure Prairie League?I keep falling in and out on this plot so stay tuned…

  2. I’m guessing Molly Hatcher isn’t Billy Hatcher’s granddaughter. Too bad, though I don’t know how you would do a corked bat story arc with high school softball and its metal bats. Surely Molly would come up with a better story than “I borrowed that corked bat from a relief pitcher”, though.

  3. @tdrewhardin – and is there an Erika Clapton in the outfield along with the Doobie sisters? Also, how long will they show the girls before they focus on some idiot with a personal problem on the boys team?

  7. Franku, sorry it took so long. Overtime has been rampant where I work and have had JUST enough time to do the blog. Anyway, I about fell out my chair reading your names and that’s what I’ve always like about you. It’s hilarious and you’re doin’ it between the lines. Don Mattingly(out of my hometown-used to referee his brothers; they’d get animated but ALWAYS shook your hand after the game, win, lose, or draw-classy family) used to talk about the reason he was successful, besides being VERY humble(trust me, gang), was that he ALWAYS focused on what’s between the lines. That’s YOU, Frank.
Besides, I think Harrow Smith will eventually get off the DL in time for the season to start and play 3rd base.
What’s SCARY is that Thorpiverse may actually have the Doobie Sisters up its sleeve(ha ha).
