This Week in Milford

The 20th Hole?

gt08032019

Gee, it’s been a while since Gil and Mimi had a foursome. When was the last time we saw them with Kaz and Kelly? Last Christmas? Oh, wait, it’s not that kind of foursome.  Just four shadowy figures sitting beneath an impossibly tall patio umbrella.

Speaking of shadowy figures, our weekend cliffhanger threatens to take us inside the inner workings of the star chamber that is the Milford School Board. Carol, who looks suspiciously like Ray Walston or Dr. Pearl (minus the bun) is dissuading the hirsute Mr. (no first name yet) Ballard from bringing up the matter of Tiki. Pray tell why? Tune in on Monday…

  1. I beg to differ on ‘impossibly tall patio umbrella’. They look about right. You dont want to bump your head getting up, and it should easily clear the tallest persons noggin. The waitress doesnt want to bump into it either when serving drinks. But the shape is odd; most umbrellas are round. These are like octagons.

  2. Travis Bickle once said,”Maybe a real rain will come along and wash all the scum off the street.” Here’s hoping a real wind comes along and takes the foursome and their umbrella to Mike Tyson’s favorite country:Bolivia.

  3. Another thrilling cliff-hangar ending. Tune in Monday–same Thorp-time, same Thorp-channel! (Hope the reference is not too obscure.)

  4. Pretty sure this is “Carol.” Since they are talking about what goes on the agenda and what doesn’t, these two are probably the president and vp of the school board. Or Carol could be the school attorney. Since the board is responsible for decisions involving questions of district policy, HvB would not be dealing with Dr Pearl.

  5. You know it’s serious business time for Mr. Ballard when he has to loosen his tie and pop his collar like that.
