Fear and Loathing at Milford High

gt04252020

Whose win is this?
It’s a save baby.
Whose save is this?
It’s Zed’s.
Who’s Zed?
Zed’s dead baby,
Zed’s dead.

Zed’s dead. Long live Gonzo.

How long can The Mayor’s wise-cracking, non sequitur-spouting, glad-handing schtick keep up? Is it enough to sustain this plot? Keep our attention? I’m having my doubts.

  1. “Mayor” is not a good nickname for this kid. I’m thinking “obnoxious” (perhaps just “noxious”?), “unwelcome”, or “nobody asked you”.

  3. I was REALLY hoping there was some kind of Sean Casey connection, but yeah — ‘The Mayor’ doesn’t work for a high school kid…

  4. When I see “Z” as a name, I can’t get past Costa-Gavras’s wonderful political thriller from 1969, and even earlier, the “Z” Guy Williams, as Zorro, slashed into the pants of Sgt Garcia, played by the wonderful Henry Calvin in the Disney series. Those who know only Sgt Schultz as the endearingly incompetent noncom do not know what they have missed.

  5. So did they chant Gonzo after the game? This is when it should be done if your gonna shoe horn a nickname on a guy. I imagine they chant Mayor Mayor Mayor! after the game. Then this absolute buffoon WB concocts a scheme to embarrass a sophomore in the shallow halls of Milford H.S. What a turd!

  6. This guy is the biggest douche in this strip in years and he’s managed to do it without doin something like Chet or Bobby H. I would love to see Gonzo knock his teeth in and say “… it’s Z goddamit…”

  7. […] Mudlarks as a “dandy start” from Gonzalo “You can still call me Gonzo even after The Mayor has left the building” Aceves goes wasted. (Gonzo must feel a bit like Max Scherzer these […]
