Let’s Focus On Poles And Underboob

Filed under: basketball, Boredom in Milford, Chunky Bracelets — nedryerson @ 5:40 am

We join our story with Phoebe and Alexa shooting some hoops as Phoebe recounts her meeting with Corina. The recounting is bare bones, so we know nothing more about Corina or the purpose of her visit to Milford. I’m curious about the very ornate pole onto which the backboard is mounted. I’m looking at the detail midway up this thing and it looks like maybe it’s supposed to be height adjustable, but the bottom of it doesn’t look like the whole thing is portable. The pole is definitely more interesting than the conversation is what I’m saying here.

So we switch to Corina returning home after her visit to Milford and filling in her mom, the arsonist, on the details of the outing. I’m assuming that this is her mom. Maybe if that arson crack was real, Corina’s mom is a guest of the state somewhere and this is a different caretaker. Either way, I find her underboob shading line weird.

The objectives of Corina’s mission to Milford still remain unclear and that’s the gist of this strip.

  1. The other thing more interesting than this slow-paced banter is tryin’ to figure out if that’s a Nerf ball, volleyball, or mini-basketball that AW is shooting. Either that or she’s waaaay bigger than I thought

  2. Whoever called Corinna Goes to Mfnrd gets 2 points, because it wasn’t all that long a shot.
Maybe Whigham could talk to Mike Manley to get over his fear of drawing breasts.

  3. Late afternoon one day on WDIG-TV on commercial break during WDIG-TV Kiddie Kartoon Karnival

“Mothers who live in a house once occupied by Samantha Stephens who are pyromaniacs and once burned down the McMann & Tate Advertising Agency and put Darrin Stephens out of a job and still call their children “Sweetie” and the daughters who love them, only on the next Geraldo.”

  4. I think I may have figured out what’s going on here. All creative people begin things then realize they’re not going to work. The smart ones put those false starts in a drawer or folder, thinking they may be able to mine them later.

What we’re seeing is a day by day dump of random panels from stories Whigrub never developed.

  5. What happened to the crimes they were going to do? What the hell happened to the button shopping?!

  6. Vaganova, what’s funny about that is I really honestly think you’re telling the truth.
I don’t mean to sing the praises of Berrill but you know as well as I do that Gil wouldn’t be talking to True at the MCC sun deck in one scene, flip over to a grill-out with Mimi at Gil’s verandah in another then flip right back to MCC sun deck again for a continuation of this Richie Cunningham-and-Mr. C exchange.
Unless Gil is in training for the Milford Marathon and the hallway leading to Dr. Pearl’s office is Heartbreak Hill.
Funny stuff as usual, My Man.

  7. Last Thursday I guessed that there’d be no NFL exhibition games.
    Another 2 pointer hit!
