From right field to blown save

Filed under: actual action, baseball, freak hands, Gil Thorp, Marty Moon — robmize2013 @ 8:12 pm

And we get introduced to the starting lineup which includes RuhRoh, Munch, Macy, and Zane. Half the guys played football for chrissake. Same bums. Its like nobody else can play sports except the same guys. By senior year theyve played 12 seasons. No wonder Zane took a couple years off.

Of course the ball finds Zane just as Marty is announcing his name.

No baseball cap for Gil the manager? And only 4 innings for your ace workhorse, even though its only opening day? I know they play at least 7 innings, so the bullpen needs 3 innings; plenty of room for 2nd guessing if they blow this lead, especially if Gil chooses the right fielder.

And I predict thats what will happen.

  1. Gil you friggin dumb ass! I hate pitch count managers. HATE ‘EM!! 4 innings isn’t even a quality start. And Zane what’s his dink is out in RF. His younger brother must me good at hitting fungos and throwing BP. Therapy for both. Good job Gil. Way to shit on your 4 year players. Jag off.

  2. Well, to be picky, actually it is a quality start, because they only play 7 innings. But we need plenty of time for Zane to get rocked.

  3. It would be funny if Zane told Gil “… get away from me, … fuckin weirdo…. and why are you pullin me?…. to give one of these stiffs some time?…to not rub it in the other team’s face?… both of those reasons suck… I feel great and have no where near 80 pitches…. fuck…..let me close it out for once….”

  4. Panel 1: I guess we’re not going to see Marjie until the fall, since the recitation of the lineup is the only reason she ever shows up.
And Jive, I agree 100%.From 1967 to 1977, The Franchise (Tom Seaver to most of you) never had fewer than 12 complete games in a season, with 21 in 1971. He pitched effectively into the early 1980s, so I’m gong to say he didn’t throw out his arm. Today, DeGrom throws 7 shutout innings and is then forced to watch … ah, I shouldn’t have gotten myself started.

  6. @Downpuppy: First thing that pops to mind when I read “Hoss Radbourn” is that he was considered one of the first people, if not the first person, photographed giving the finger.

    Today’s post coming directly.
